Stuffed Giant Shells

  • 1 lb. ground chuck
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1/2 c. bread crumbs
  • 1/4 c. chopped parsley
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 8 oz. Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/3 c. water
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 18 giant shells
  • 2 (15 1/2 oz.) jars spaghetti sauce
  • 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese

Directions

    Brown the meat, onion, garlic, salt and pepper until crumbly. Drain and cool.

    Stir in Mozzarella cheese, bread crumbs, parsley and egg.

    Cook shells until tender.

    Drain and stuff with meat mixture.

    Spoon 1/4 sauce over baking dish (9 x 13 x 2-inches). Place filled shells in dish, side by side.

    Add water to remaining spaghetti sauce and pour over shells.

    Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

    Bake 20 to 25 minutes at 350°.
