- 8 to 10 medium onions
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- some chopped mushrooms
- 1 c. bread crumbs
- 3 Tbsp. white sauce
- salt and pepper
- 1 grate of Bee Brand nutmeg
- bread crumbs
Directions

1Peel the onions; parboil in boiling, salted water with the butter.

2Drain and cool.

3Carefully scoop out the center part of each onion and chop very fine with half its quantity of chopped mushrooms.

4Put in a saucepan with the cup of bread crumbs, salt, pepper and nutmeg, then add the white sauce.

5Mix well and stuff the center of the onions with this mixture.

6Place onions on buttered tin.

7Sprinkle the tops with bread crumbs.

8Put a small piece of butter on each one and bake in a moderate oven for 1/2 hour.
