Stuffed Pork Chops

Ingredients

  • 2 (2-inch) pork chops
  • 2 slices rye bread
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/3 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 apple (Granny Smith will make it slightly tart)
  • 2 to 3 Tbsp. raisins
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 Tbsp. brandy (optional)

    Preheat oven to 375°.

    Split chops in half, making a pocket. Cut bread into cubes.

    Thinly sliced apple (peel and all).

    Heat saute pan.

    Add butter, bread and apples; stir.

    When the bread is slightly browned, add raisins, cinnamon, nutmeg and sugar.

    Toss all ingredients.

    Slowly add brandy.

    Let reduce.

    Spoon mixture into chops.

    Bake on rack for one hour.
