Stuffed Quahogs

- 1/2 lb. butter
- 3 medium onions, chopped
- garlic powder
- oregano
- Italian seasoned bread crumbs
- 6 c. minced quahogs (previously steamed from their shells; save shells for stuffing)
Directions

1In large skillet, saute onions with 1/4 butter until onions are soft.

2Sprinkle with garlic powder and oregano.

3Add minced quahogs and rest of butter.

4As butter melts, blend quahogs and onions.

5Stir frequently until butter melts and mixture is heated through.

6Remove from heat and add bread crumbs until a dry but pasty consistency is achieved.

7Stuff shells with the mixture and bake in a 350° oven until browned.

8Yields 1 1/2 to 2 dozen.
