Stuffed Shells

Ingredients

  • 1 box large shell noodles
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 can vegetarian Swiss steaks (4 to 6 pieces)
  • 3 c. cottage cheese
  • 1 to 2 c. Mozzarella cheese, grated
  • 1 c. spaghetti sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1 tsp. parsley flakes (optional)

Directions

    Saute the onion in a little margarine until tender.

    Mash up the Swiss steaks and add them and their juice to the pan with the onion.

    Add the seasonings, the cottage cheese, Mozzarella cheese and spaghetti sauce.

    Heat until cheeses melt.

    Let cool long enough so that the ingredients do not run out of the shells they they're stuffed.

    Stuff the cooked shells.

    Put a layer of spaghetti sauce in the bottom of a large 11 x 13-inch casserole dish.

    Put a single layer of stuffed shells in.

    Top the shells with more spaghetti sauce and Mozzarella cheese.

    Bake at 350° for 25 minutes.
