- 1 1/2 lb. coarse ground beef
- 1/2 c. Gebhardt chili powder
- 1 tsp. ground cumin
- 2 small bay leaves
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1/4 c. cooking oil
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions

1Sear beef in heavy pot until brown, 3 minutes.

2Turn heat to simmer and add 1 cup of water, the chili powder, cumin, bay leaves and salt and pepper.

3Stir to blend and simmer, covered half an hour.

4Now add the onion and garlic.

5Simmer another 1/2 hour. Brown the flour in the oil in a skillet.

6Stir in 2 cups of water until blended.

7Then add to chili pot.

8Lower heat and cook a few minutes more.

9It's now ready to eat.
