  • 1 c. shortening
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 1 c. powdered sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 c. sifted flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. cream of tartar

Directions

    Cream first 4 ingredients; add eggs and vanilla.

    Sift flour, soda and tartar together.

    Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture, mixing well.

    Roll in balls, flatten with glass dipped in sugar. Bake 10 minutes at 350°.

    Makes 10 dozen.
