  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 tsp. cream of tartar

    Cream together the butter, Crisco and sugar.

    Add eggs and vanilla.

    Mix flour, salt, baking powder and cream of tartar.

    Add flour mixture gradually to creamed mixture.

    Mix well.

    Wrap in wax paper rolls.

    Chill.

    Cut.

    Bake at 350° until lightly browned.
