  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. oleo
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 4 to 6 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Cream the sugar, oleo and vanilla until light. Add eggs and beat.

    Sift dry ingredients (except baking soda) which is added to the buttermilk.

    Add alternately with the dry ingredients and milk.

    Add enough flour to make a stiff dough. Roll dough 1/4-inch and cut with cookie cutters.

    Place on slightly greased cookie sheets. Bake at 375° until light brown on bottoms, about 10 minutes.
