- 1 c. white Karo syrup
- dash of salt
- 2 egg whites, stiffly beaten
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- food coloring (optional)
Directions

1In a saucepan, bring syrup to a rolling boil for 1 minute. Beat egg whites and salt.

2Pour hot syrup over stiffly beaten eggs and continue beating until it forms peaks. Add vanilla and a few drops of food coloring (optional).

3Makes enough to ice a large layer cake.
