Ingredients

  • 12 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 egg, beaten lightly
  • 1 cup brown sugar (I use 1/2 cup)
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup all-bran cereal
  • 14 cup wheat germ
  • 1 12 teaspoons baking soda
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 12 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Directions

    Pour boiling water over raisins and allow to cool.

    Stir in eggs, sugar and buttermilk.

    Sift dry ingrdients.

    Add to above and mix well.

    Oven 350 45-50 minutes.
