  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 1/2 c. lukewarm water
  • 3/4 c. shortening
  • 1 c. boiling water or scalded milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. cold water
  • 7 1/2 c. flour

Directions

    Melt shortening in milk; add eggs, sugar, salt, water and yeast dissolved in 1/2 cup water and flour.

    Knead and let rise. Make into rolls and let rise again.

    Bake at 375° for 15 minutes. If used for dinner rolls, omit 1/4 cup sugar.
