Supreme Pork Chops

  • 6 pork chops (1/4-inch)
  • paprika
  • 2 Tbsp. shortening
  • 1/2 c. chopped celery
  • 1/2 envelope dry onion soup
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 Tbsp. parsley
  • 2/3 c. milk
  • 1 (3 oz.) can chopped mushrooms, drained

Directions

    Season pork chops with paprika, salt and pepper.

    In skillet, brown chops on both sides in hot shortening.

    Drain off excess fat.

    Add 1 cup water, celery and soup mix.

    Cover and cook over low heat for 40 to 45 minutes or until chops are tender.

    Remove chops from skillet.

    Combine the flour, parsley and 1/4 cup cold water.

    Blend into pan juices.

    Add milk and mushrooms.

    Cook and stir over low heat until thickened and bubbly.

    Spoon gravy over chops.
