  • 4 to 5 medium size apples
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 stick margarine or butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 egg
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/4 c. chopped nuts (optional)

Directions

    Peel and slice apples to fill pie pan 2/3 full.

    Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon sugar and cinnamon.

    In small bowl combine the next 5 ingredients and nuts (optional).

    Pour over apples and bake 40 to 45 minutes at 350° or until crust is golden brown.

    Rhubarb, berries and other fresh fruit can be substituted for the apples.
