Swedish Lasagna

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. oil
  • 1 1/2 lb. ground chuck
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. oregano
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 lb. lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb. cottage cheese (small curd)
  • 1/2 c. minced onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 (2 lb.) can tomatoes
  • 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese
  • 3/4 c. Mozzarella cheese

Directions

    Saute oil, onion and meat.

    Add garlic, salt, pepper, oregano, tomatoes, tomato sauce and 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese.

    Simmer 30 minutes.

    Cook lasagna noodles; drain and cover with cold water.

    Add 1 tablespoon salad oil.

    Arrange 1/3 meat sauce, single layer noodles, Mozzarella cheese, cottage cheese and sprinkle Parmesan cheese.

    Repeat until 3 layers.

    Bake 30 minutes at 350°.
