- 1/2 lb. (1 1/2 c.) almonds
- 1/2 lb. (2 c.) pecan halves
- 1 stick margarine
- 2 stiffly beaten egg whites
- dash of salt
- 1 c. sugar
Directions

1Toast nuts in slow 325° oven until light brown. Fold sugar and salt into egg whites. Beat stiff. Fold nuts into meringue. Melt margarine in jelly roll pan. Spread nut mixture over margarine. Bake in 325° oven, stirring every 10 minutes, until nuts are coated and no margarine remains in pan. Cool. Yields 4 cups.
