- 1/2 lb. (1/2 c.) blanched almonds
- 1/2 lb. (2 c.) walnut halves
- 2 egg whites
- 1 c. sugar
- dash of salt
- 1/2 c. margarine or butter
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon (optional)
Directions

1Toast nuts on tray in oven until light brown.

2Beat egg whites slightly.

3Fold in sugar and salt.

4Beat until stiff peaks form. Fold nuts into meringue.

5Melt butter in a jelly roll pan (or cookie sheet with sides).

6Spread nut mixture over butter.

7Bake at 325° for 30 minutes or until no butter remains.

8Stir every 10 minutes while baking.
