Ingredients

  • 1 c. slivered almonds
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. oleo
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 c. sour milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 c. flour (add more if too sticky to handle)
  • 1 tsp. almond flavoring

Directions

    Brown almonds in oven.

    Mix eggs, sugar and oleo together. Add milk, soda and flavoring.

    Gradually add flour.

    Stir in nuts. Form into 2 long rolls on cookie sheet.

    Can add more flour if too sticky to handle.

    Bake at 300° for 45 minutes.

    Cut on angle in slices.

    Lay out on cookie sheet and dry at 200° for 45 minutes, turning once.
