- 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. each: salt and nutmeg
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 1 unbeaten egg
- 1/3 c. milk
- 1 1/2 c. pared, shredded apples
- 1/4 c. melted oleo
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
Directions

1Sift together first 3 ingredients.

2Set aside.

3Add sugar gradually to shortening, creaming well.

4Blend in egg; mix well. Add milk alternately with dry ingredients.

5Stir in apples. Fill well-greased muffin cups 2/3 full.

6Bake at 400° for 20 to 25 minutes.

7Remove from pan.

8Cool for 10 minutes.

9Dip in melted oleo, then roll in mixture of 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon.
