- 12 medium carrots, peeled
- 3 Tbsp. butter
- 2 Tbsp. pure maple syrup
- 1 to 2 tsp. fresh basil
- 1/4 tsp. salt
Directions

1Cut carrots into 1/8-inch slices or run through slicer of food processor.

2Place them in vegetable steamer, covered, over boiling water for 10 minutes until tender, but not mushy. Remove from heat and set aside. Carrots may be steamed well in advance and combined with other ingredients immediately before serving.

3In a large, heavy saucepan, melt butter.

4Add maple syrup, carrots, basil and salt.

5Stir well to coat carrots thoroughly with butter sauce. Serves 4 to 6.
