- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 c. yellow cornmeal
- 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 egg
- 1 c. milk
Directions

1Preheat oven to 375° and grease 8-inch pan.

2Melt shortening and set aside.

3Mix dry ingredients and add milk, egg and shortening.

4Mix well until mixture is thin.

5If not, add enough milk to make that way.

6Place in greased pan and bake 30 minutes or until golden brown.

7It should be very tall.
