- 1 12 cups flour
- 23 cup sugar
- 12 cup cornmeal
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 1 14 cups milk
- 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
- 13 cup oil
- 3 tablespoons butter or 3 tablespoons margarine, melted
- enough milk or cream, to cover top of cornbread with a thin layer
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350F Grease 8-inch square baking pan.

2Combine flour, sugar, corn meal, baking powder and salt in medium bowl.

3Combine milk, eggs, oil and butter in small bowl and mix well.

4Add to flour mixture and stir just until blended.

5Pour into baking pan.

6Cover batter with a thin layer of milk or cream.

7Bake for 35 minutes or until wooden pick comes out clean.

8For corn muffins, spoon batter into muffin cups 2/3 full.

9Bake for 18-20 minutes or until wooden pick comes out clean.

10Cool for 5 minutes before removing from pans.
