Bean Salad

Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. water
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. vinegar
  • 1 small (No. 2) can kidney beans, drained
  • 1 small (No. 2) can green beans, drained
  • 1 small (No. 2) can lima beans, drained
  • 1 small (No. 2) can wax beans, drained
  • 2 c. chopped celery
  • 1 large sweet onion, chopped
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions

    Bring to a boil the first 3 ingredients for 10 minutes (not hard boil).

    Cool.

    Add vinegar and drained beans.

    Cover; let stand overnight.

    At serving time, add the chopped celery, chopped onion and salt and pepper to taste.

    This keeps well in refrigerator.
