  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 1/3 c. butter
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 2 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. scalded milk
  • 2 unbeaten eggs
  • 5 to 5 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1 1/2 c. confectioners sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 c. nuts, chopped

    Soften yeast in water.

    Combine 1/3 cup butter, sugar, salt and milk.

    Stir to melt butter.

    Cool to lukewarm.

    Stir in eggs and yeast.

    Gradually add flour to form stiff dough.

    Knead 5 to 8 minutes.
