- 15 small onions
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 2 12 tablespoons white sugar (or brown)
- salt and pepper
Directions

1Peel the onions and pierce each one with a sharp tines of a small fork.

2Cover with salted water and boil for 15 minutes or until tender.

3Drain and dry on a paper towel for thirty minutes, turning occassionally.

4Heat the butter in a skillet.

5Add the sugar and cook 1 minute.

6Toss the onions in mixture until well coated on all sides.

7Place in a shallow baking-serving dish and bake uncovered for 20 to 30 minutes.

8Serve as a garnish or in the baking dish.
