Sweet Onions

  • 15 small onions
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 12 tablespoons white sugar (or brown)
  • salt and pepper

Directions

    Peel the onions and pierce each one with a sharp tines of a small fork.

    Cover with salted water and boil for 15 minutes or until tender.

    Drain and dry on a paper towel for thirty minutes, turning occassionally.

    Heat the butter in a skillet.

    Add the sugar and cook 1 minute.

    Toss the onions in mixture until well coated on all sides.
  7. 7
    Place in a shallow baking-serving dish and bake uncovered for 20 to 30 minutes.

    Serve as a garnish or in the baking dish.
