- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 8 oz. (2 sticks) cold butter
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Combine flour, salt and sugar.

2Cut the butter into the flour mixture until it looks like coarse meal.

3Add the lightly beaten egg and the vanilla.

4Work until mixture will form a ball.

5If dry, add 1 or 2 teaspoons water until dough is manageable.

6Knead 5 or 6 times on counter.

7Form 3 balls.
-
8Wrap and chill.
-
9(Pastry can be refrigerated a week before using or frozen for 3 or 4 months.)
