- 1 qt. small cucumbers
- 1 Tbsp. mixed spices
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1 tsp. prepared horseradish
- 1 tsp. powdered alum
- 1 c. vinegar
- 1 c. sugar
Directions

1Fill jar with cucumbers.

2Mix all but sugar.

3Fill jar with cold water and seal tightly.

4After 2 months or more, pour off liquid and throw away.

5Slice pickles lengthwise.

6Add sugar and let stand 24 hours.

7Before using, liquid will form as sugar dissolves.

8They can then be resealed and will keep indefinitely.
