  • chunk style cucumbers
  • 1 c. vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp. alum
  • 1 Tbsp. pickling salt
  • 1 Tbsp. mixed spices
  • 2 c. sugar

Directions

    Pack jar with cucumbers.

    Heat vinegar, alum, pickling salt and mixed spices.

    Heat and pour over pickles.

    Finish filling jar with hot water; seal.

    Two weeks before using, pour off liquid. To it, add sugar and heat.

    Pour over pickles.

    Cool and eat.
