  • 2 cakes yeast
  • 2 c. lukewarm water
  • 3 c. flour (add to make a sponge)
  • 4 c. milk, scalded and cooled
  • 2 c. Crisco and butter
  • 2 Tbsp. salt

Directions

    To raised sponge, add the cooled milk and some flour (about 1/3 cup).

    Then add other ingredients and mix.

    Let rise.

    Knead and let rise again.
  5. 5
    Knead and shape into swieback.
  6. 6
    Let rise again (about 1 hour).
