  • 6 (1/2-inch thick) French bread slices
  • 6 (1/8-inch thick) Swiss cheese slices
  • 1/4 c. butter or margarine
  • 6 boneless chicken breast halves, skinned and dusted with flour
  • 1/2 c. dry white wine
  • 8 oz. fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 c. milk, chicken broth or water
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. powdered mustard (optional)

Directions

    Arrange bread slices on a baking sheet. Place a slice of cheese on each bread slice.
