Ingredients
- 1/4 c. flour
- 2 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. paprika
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1 lb. round steak
- 2 large onions
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. uncooked rice
- 2 c. canned tomatoes
- 2 c. hot water
Directions

1Mix flour, salt, pepper and paprika.

2Roll steak in seasoned flour.

3Brown onions slightly in melted shortening.

4Remove onions.

5Sear meat on both sides without browning and put in greased casserole.

6Place onions, rice and tomatoes on top of meat.

7Add remainder of flour mixture to shortening in skillet and blend until smooth.

8Add water to mixture, stirring until smooth. Strain over meat in casserole.

9Cook, covered, in 350° oven for 1 1/2 hours.
