- 1/4 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- dash of pepper
- 2 lb. round steak, cut 1-inch thick
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 (4 oz.) can mushroom pieces (optional)
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1/2 green pepper, chopped
- 1 can tomatoes, canned or fresh
Directions

1Combine flour with salt and pepper.

2Pound into meat.

3Brown on both sides in shortening in 12-inch skillet.

4Add remaining ingredients and simmer, covered, on top of range or bake at 350° for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

5Serve with gravy in skillet.
