- 2 lb. beef round steak (1/2-inch thick)
- 3 Tbsp. flour
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes, cut up
- 1 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. basil
- 1/2 c. chopped green pepper
- 1 1/2 c. (6 oz.) Mozzarella cheese
Directions

1Cut meat into serving size pieces; coat with flour.

2Melt butter in a skillet.

3Brown meat slowly on both sides.

4Put into a 12 x 8-inch baking dish.

5Combine tomatoes, salt, basil and green pepper; pour over meat.

6Bake, covered, at 350° for 1 hour, or until meat is tender.

7Remove cover; sprinkle with cheese and bake an additional 5 minutes, or until cheese is melted.

8Makes 8 servings.
