  • 2/3 c. butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. cane syrup
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda

Directions

    Cream butter, sugar, syrup and eggs until light and fluffy. Add boiling water, beat well.

    Add flour and baking soda, mixing well.

    Pour in well-greased and floured pan.

    Bake at 350° in a preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
