Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground chuck
  • 1 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 15 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 15 oz. can red kidney beans, drained
  • 2 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 15 oz. pkg. (12) taco shells
  • 2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 small head lettuce, chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped

Directions

    Brown meat and onions.

    Stir in sauce, beans, chili powder, salt and pepper.

    Break the taco shells in half at fold.

    Arrange on the bottom and sides of a 9 x 13-inch pan.

    Spoon mix over the taco shells.

    Sprinkle with cheese.

    Bake at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes.

    Top with shredded lettuce and tomatoes.

    Serve.
