  • 3/4 lb. ground chuck
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 rib celery, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 16 oz. can tomatoes
  • 3 Tbsp. chili powder, divided
  • 1 (16 oz.) can chili (no bean variety)
  • 5 c. water
  • 1 1/2 c. cornmeal
  • grated cheese or bits of Velveeta

Directions

    Brown meat; drain.

    Add onions, pepper, celery and garlic. Cook until they are wilted.

    Add tomatoes which have been cut in small pieces.

    Sprinkle on 2 tablespoons chili powder plus large can of chili.

    Simmer for 30 minutes.
