- 3 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground cloves
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup butter - softened
- 3 cups sugar
- 3 eggs
- 2 cups canned pumpkin
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2Grease two 8 1/2x4 1/2x2 1/2 inch loaf pans with unsalted shortening.

3Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and salt into a medium bowl.

4In a large bowl beat butter and sugar until pale and fluffy.

5Add a quarter of the dry ingredients to mixture then one egg.

6Continue adding dry ingredients and eggs to mixture, beating well after each addition.

7Stir pumpkin into batter on cup at a time.

8Pour half of the batter into each loaf pan.

9Bake for 1 hour or until cake tester comes out clean when inserted in center of loaf.

10Set pans on wire rack to cool for 10 minutes.

11Remove bread from pans and set on rack to cool.
