  • 1/4 tsp. soda
  • 4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 lb. soft butter or oleo
  • 2 c. granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 c. milk

    Sift together flour, baking powder, soda and salt.

    Combine in large mixing bowl butter, sugar, eggs and flavoring.

    Cream for 2 minutes with mixer.

    Add milk, then flour mixture gradually, beating until blended (about 3 minutes).

    Preheat oven to 375°. Roll dough on slightly floured surface 1/8 to 1/4-inch thick; cut. Bake about 12 minutes.
