- 1 c. shortening
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 4 c. plain flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. soda
- 6 Tbsp. sweet milk
- 2 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Cream the shortening, sugar and eggs.

2Add alternately the dry ingredients with milk.

3Add vanilla.

4Roll out on lightly floured counter; cut with biscuit cutter.

5Pick up with slim spatula and place on greased cookie sheet.

6Bake at 375° (check oven).

7Don't overbake.

8Remove cakes while still warm. Re-grease cookie sheet and continue to bake more Tea Cakes.
