Ingredients

  • 1 c. margarine
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. powdered sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. oil
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg (optional)
  • 6 c. flour

Directions

    Cream margarine, sugar, eggs and oil.

    Sift dry ingredients together and add to creamed mixture.

    Add vanilla.

    Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls on sheet of aluminum foil.

    Flatten slightly with hand.

    Bake at 400° for 10 to 12 minutes.

    Makes 100 to 120 cookies. Children love to help.
