- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 4 Tbsp. milk
- 2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Sift flour, sugar and soda together.

2Cut shortening into dry ingredients until mixture resembles small peas.

3Make a hole in center and add egg, vanilla and milk.

4Mix well.

5Turn on to a floured board and knead until smooth.

6Roll out very thin and cut into desired shapes.

7Bake in hot oven (400°) until golden brown.
