  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 4 Tbsp. milk
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Sift flour, sugar and soda together.

    Cut shortening into dry ingredients until mixture resembles small peas.

    Make a hole in center and add egg, vanilla and milk.

    Mix well.

    Turn on to a floured board and knead until smooth.

    Roll out very thin and cut into desired shapes.

    Bake in hot oven (400°) until golden brown.
