  • 2 c. sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 1/2 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/3 c. buttermilk

Directions

    Cream the sugar and shortening (softened).

    Add beaten eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.

    Dissolve soda in buttermilk.
  4. 4
    Add buttermilk and flour alternately.

    Beat well. Add vanilla.

    Roll out and cut with a cookie cutter.

    Place on cookie sheet and bake at 350° for approximately 10 minutes.
