  • 1 1/2 c. plain cornmeal
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 4 eggs, well beaten
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 1 c. cream-style corn
  • 1 c. sharp Cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1/2 c. Wesson oil
  • 1 c. green pepper, chopped
  • 1 c. onion, chopped
  • 1 c. margarine, melted

Directions

    Mix all the ingredients together (except margarine). Pour into an ungreased 10 x 15-inch pan. Bake at 425° for 25 to 30 minutes. Remove from the oven. Pour the melted margarine over the baked cornbread. Let stand until it has been absorbed.
