  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/ 2 cup cocoa
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2/3 cup margarine
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup boiling water

Directions

  1. 1
    Sift together flour, cocoa, soda and salt. Cream sugar and margarine. Add vanilla and eggs to creamed mixture. Beat well. Add 1 cup buttermilk alternately with dry ingredients. Add 1 cup boiling water. Grease and flour large cake pan or cookie sheet. Bake at 325° for 20 minutes.
