  • 2 large onions, chopped
  • 2 green peppers, chopped
  • 3 Tbsp. Crisco
  • 1 lb. lean, ground steak
  • 2 c. canned tomatoes (juice and all)
  • 1/2 c. rice (uncooked)
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper

Directions

    Cook onions and peppers slowly in Crisco until onions turn yellow.

    Add meat; saute until meat falls apart.

    Add tomatoes, rice and seasonings.

    Put in casserole.

    Cover and cook slowly for 45 minutes at 375°.
