  • 3 ounces of gin
  • 1/2 ounce of dry vermouth
  • Green olive

Directions

    Chill a 7-ounce martini glass by filling with ice and water.

    Fill a professional bartender's glass, or a tall 16-ounce glass, two-thirds full with ice.

    Add gin and vermouth to the bartender's glass, and stir with a long-necked spoon, keeping the spoon close to the side of the glass as you swirl the ice.

    Stir until the glass frosts, about 20 seconds.

    Empty the martini glass, and strain the contents of the bartender's glass into it.
  6. 6
    Garnish with olive.
