  • 34 cup butter or 34 cup margarine
  • 1 small onion, thinly diced
  • 2 cups celery, sliced thinly
  • 2 loaves bread
  • 2 12 cups chicken broth
  • 2 teaspoons thyme
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 4 tablespoons sage
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper

    slowly melt butter in a sauce pan and add the onion and celery.Cook on medium heat for about 10 minutes or until they turn soft NOT brown.

    meanwhile as that cooks -- cube your loaves of bread into 1/2 inch pieces and throw into a big bowl.

    when celery and onions are done,pour mixture into the bread cubes.mix all together.

    start adding 1 cup of chicken broth,mix well.

    Next add all your seasonings,mix and then add remaining chicken broth.

    mix all together and pour it into a greased casserole dish.

    Bake in the oven at 375 celcius for about 30-40 minutes.
