Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine
  • 1 c. flour (approximately)
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 egg white
  • finely chopped nutmeats

Directions

    Mix first 4 ingredients and blend well.

    Roll into balls the size of a small walnut.
  3. 3
    Roll each ball in unbeaten egg white and then in finely chopped nutmeats.

    Bake at 350° for 5 minutes. Remove cookie sheet from oven and make small depression in center of each cookie (use thimble).

    Fill hole with jelly.
  6. 6
    Return to oven and bake for 15 minutes or until brown.
