  • 1 (13 oz.) can red kidney beans
  • 1 (13 oz.) can white kidney beans
  • 1 (13 oz.) can chickpeas
  • 1 large Spanish onion
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 c. olive oil
  • 1 (28 oz.) can chopped tomatoes
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. cumin
  • 1/2 tsp. celery seed
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. basil

    Drain and rinse 3 cans of beans.

    Chop onion and garlic.

    In a large saucepan, heat oil.

    Add garlic and onion; cook until soft. Add tomatoes, beans and seasonings.

    Simmer 1 hour.
