  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup flour, all-purpose
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons butter melted
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter melted
  • 1 ounce chocolate unsweetened melted, 1 square
  • 1 large eggs
  • 3 cups flour, all-purpose
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup walnuts chopped
  • 1 ounce chocolate 1 square
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

    Prepare oatmeal layer:

    Combine oats, 1/2 cup flour, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt.

    Beat in 6 tablespoon softened butter.

    Spread oat mixture in an 11 by 7 baking pan.

    Bake 350F (180C) for 10 minutes, cool.

    Prepare brownie layer:

    Mix sugar, 1/4 cup butter, and melted chocolate.

    Add egg and beat.

    Stir 23 cup flour, 1/4 teaspoon baking powder, 1/4 teaspoon salt.

    Add to chocolate mixture alternating with 1/4 cup milk, vanilla and then add 1/2 cup chopped walnuts.

    Spread over baked oatmeal layer, bake 350F (180C) for 25 minutes.

    Prepare frosting:

    Melt chocolate and butter.

    Mix in powdered sugar, vanilla and milk.
